Absolutely amazing. The service, the craftsmanship, the artistry of these drinks are breathtaking. My husband and i came here and were completely blown away. I highly recommend this place! We had the naughty childhood from the tasting menu- definitely recommend

This place is brilliant. I could go on but you'd do better to go yourself and experience something unique and genuine. And inevitably get pissed in the process.

Lounge Bohemia is a subterranean, mid-century modern cocktail den in Shoreditch slinging high-concept drinks and, er, experiences. A-la-carte drinks are likely to be served in a pipe-like vessel or involve overflowing foam; the tasting menu presentation is even more creative. Despite the sighs about pretension this may inspire, my boyfriend and I found this to be one of the highlights of our August trip to London.
Bohemia refers to the now-Czech Republic, not hippies, which the menu-holding books and vaguely Soviet vibes will attest to. I desperately wanted to ask where they got all of the gorgeous wooden furniture-- reproduction or restored, it's all very classy and low-key.
Bookings must be made in advance via text, and I had no problem getting a weeknight spot less than a week in advance. When we arrived around 10 on a Monday, it was fairly full, though we ended up having the place to ourselves by the end.
I went for their most popular tasting menu, based on a morning routine. My boyfriend opted for the trip into the woods, which he was warned had "no liquids per se" but did contain alcohol. She recommended we upsize one or both of ours for an additional fee, as they're really not built for sharing, and we should have taken her advice, as some of these are really just a sip or a nibble.
Highlights of mine included the lychee bathtub starter, complete with hidden rubber duck; the Le Labo perfume-scented drink; the rum-and-mint toothpaste. The only one I didn't enjoy was the final "lightbulb moment" cocktail, a kind of homemade Red Bull, which I was fairly warned to save a sip of the previous drink, a lovely riff on Vietnamese coffee, to wash down.
My boyfriend's experience was a bit more mixed. When he was presented with the first course, a fig eau de vie in a light-up mushroom vaporizer, we had a hard time containing our laughter. Being invited to lick a honey-whiskey sap off of a ceramic tree trunk didn't help matters. But overall, there was a lot of creativity put into it and there were some very tasty bites and foams along the way into the woods.
Alcohol content is fair on the classic tasting menu, maybe about two drinks worth; there's almost negligible alcohol in the second. We spent about an hour and a half here.
This could all easily veer into cheesy territory (and it's still a love it or hate it kind of place), but I found myself charmed by the experience, especially thanks to the storytelling from our waitress, who had the perfect balance of humor and professionalism.
If you're a molecular gastronomy fan, have some cash to blow, and are tolerant of theatrics, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by Lounge Bohemia. -

This was a unique bar experience like no other. The place is very dimmed. There is complimentary popcorn and water. The menu is place in a book. Each crafted cocktails comes with a story and carefully selected after you tell the server what taste you prefer for your cocktails. The drinks are beautifully presented with unusual props. It was fascinating. I got to try some of the drinks that we ordered and the tastes of those drinks were different and not to my liking. I guess since I prefer sweeter drinks. So the server gave me "metamorphosis." After dropping the "cocoon" into the drink, a butterfly appeared. I spent around $20 for that drink alone so yes it is pricey, but it was a memorable experience since we don't have this kind of bar in where I live.

Very unique experience. I tried a 6 course cocktail experience which was enjoyable but note this is for people who appreciate the effort that goes into experimentation less so than the actual taste. The hosts (Paul and Taylor) were very knowledgeable and sat with you to explain each drink. It's a bit on the pricy side but this is justifiable since you're paying more for the experience than the drinks. I don't think I'd rush back but I'm glad I did it once.
